How to delete a chatbot
Permanently delete a chatbot -- including its prompts, chat history, and sensitive data in just a few steps.
You can delete a chatbot -- along with its prompts, chat history, training data, and other sensitive data in the General Settings section.
But before proceeding, consider these tips first:
Tip #1: Back up your data. You might need it for future chatbots!
Tip #2: Remove the chatbot's code from your website or link from your online platforms to avoid complications.
Save your important settings first
When backing up, consider the following:
- Text prompts
- Suggested questions
- AI model settings (Chosen AI model + temperature settings)
- Interface settings
- Custom Skill Sets
How to delete a chatbot
- From the dashboard, click General under Agent Settings in your sidebar.
- Scroll to the Delete Chatbot section.
- Click Delete.
- Confirm deletion when prompted.
What happens after deletion
- All settings, chat history, and AI training tied to the chatbot are permanently erased (even on our end!).
Due to possible conflicts with other chatbots, knowledge bases would have to be deleted in the Knowledge Library. - Chatbot links will open to a 404 page.
- Embedded website chatbot widgets will return a 404 error.
Delete a chatbot's Knowledge Base
Knowledge bases can be shared between AI chatbots. To avoid errors for other chatbots, knowledge bases must be deleted in the Knowledge Library.
To delete a knowledge base:
- Go to the Knowledge Library, located at the leftmost side.
- Select the Knowledge Base you want to delete.
- Click Delete Knowledge Base on the top-right corner.
